Welcome Ensar Temizel
The Code Lab welcomes Ensar Temizel as a visiting scholar for the 2023-2024 academic year.
During his visit, Temizel will participate in several of the lab’s academic and research activities. He will also be teaching a new project-based seminar course (48-619: Machine Intelligence, Cybernetics, and Design) that focuses on human-machine interaction in architecture and design based on cybernetic epistemology, concepts, and models in the upcoming spring semester.
Ensar Temizel’s research is rooted in the exploration of the historical intersections between architecture and computer technologies, with a particular interest in the field of cybernetics. He is primarily engaged in investigating the role of cybernetics in machine intelligence research in architecture inspired by the work and legacy of Gordon Pask. He earned his PhD in Architecture from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Türkiye in 2022. He has been honored with various grants and awards, including a fellowship from the Doctoral Research Residency Program (DRRP) of the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) in 2020.
