Carla’s submission, co-authored with Professor Josh Bard, is entitled “Robotic bubble making II: A material and machine exploration through iterative design with ABB-IRB120.” According to the authors, the work “reframes robotics as a medium for inquiry around technology. Asking: What happens when we turn robotics into a medium of play, curiosity, and material exploration? Exploring how we can engage with highly precise systems applying intuition, curiosity, and play. With a series of bubble-making experiments with a robotic arm. Challenging the precision qualities by engaging with a soft, ephemeral, and unpredictable material.”
The ACADIA conference will be held at Florida International University and University of Miami, Florida, from November 6-8. To learn more about her project, please visit her website.
