hernan diaz alonso creates complex aggregate forms from simple manipulations of simple components. the combination of deformations lets the form respond to local design considerations. the entire building is not, however one large monosurface responding to all environmental and design factors. rather, components are formed which respond to a limited number of stimuli. this allows for greater formal variety and as the components are combined, greater complexity. because the components are based on common forces, or common initial geometries, the entire form is linked together.
