The lucky7 louvered blinds is a voice controlled barrier. Commands such as "open all the way" and "close a little" control the position of the blades to allow more or less light, air, or visibility. In the year 2020, homes will listen and adapt to their inhabitants' requests.
In this prototype:
The frame and individual panes are made from a sheet of hollow plastic board. The panes are attached to a wooden dowel which is coupled to a servo motor. The servo moter is connected to a BASIC Stamp controller board which keeps the servo in position. The BASIC Stamp is controlled by a laptop with speech recognition software which provides the user interaction.
