Anya Castillo
Major field:ECE/CS 2005 Anya Castillo
I grew up most of my childhood in Atlanta. My childhood consisted of going to a parochial school everyday, followed by after school sports and a piano lesson once a week. In my free time I would often build things with Legos, popsicle sticks, playdoh, beads, and other crafts. I enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. As I grew older, I started investing my time in coaching children in sports and community service such as building housing and feeding the hungry. I have 2 younger sisters, and a younger brother, making 3 siblings total. Thinking of my responsibilities to my family always helps to keep me grounded.

Skills:

I am excellent at Hardware and Software design. I am proficient using Windows, Unix/Linux, Mac OS X, and Sun OS C operating systems. I program proficiently in C, C++, Java, JavaServlets, Applets, JSP, Verilog HDL, HTML, SML, XML, XSL, Assembly Language, CGI, and Perl. I use softwares such as Cadence Design Tools, Hspice, Mathworks MATLAB, Synopsis, Synplicity Synplify, Verilogger, Xilinx Design Manager when prototyping my designs. I enjoy using open source--such as Apache Tomcat servers and MySQL, for example with web applications--when coding.
